Hello & welcome to my CG Society Portfolio.
My name.. is Annette Abolins (alias Frejasphere);
Artist on joyride - and enjoying the supportive encouraging community here. Even though I am a traditional mediums artist, I find this forum inspiring and a great opportunity for me to interact with all kinds of artists - supporting an important part of artistic expression (which, to me) lies in communication.
I paint and draw what I see, allowing my imagination & what lies beyond
to decide where the journey takes me. Fantasy, Surrealism & Realism
are all friends I meet along the way.
My childhood was spent growing up in Sweden to an Australian Mother
and a Latvian Father. Our large family gave me a multicultural & artistic upbringing, which instilled a fascination for people and their visual stories. Vivid imagination and colourful dreams, became a key to artistic expression.
I studied Fine Arts in Sweden and Australia (8 yrs),
focussing on drawing, painting, photography, lithography screen-printing and ceramics.
To me, art is about story-telling;
and there are so many stories to tell.
